DNR: Blue Grass Fish & Wildlife Area

Blue Grass Fish & Wildlife Area is a unique natural resource area because all of the land has been strip mined. Blue Grass covers approximately 2,532 acres and features about 28 pits and lakes (600 acres of water) and is dedicated to providing and maintaining quality hunting, fishing and wildlife watching opportunities.
Boonville City Lake Park & Splash Park

The park consists of three playgrounds, one basketball court, a spray park, two picnic shelters, two gazebos and three parking lots.
The spray park was opened in 2006 and is open generally from June – August for children 10 years old and younger. There is no charge for admittance to the spray park. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
For your safety the park is equipped with surveillance cameras that are monitored by our Boonville Police Department.
Friedman Park

Near the shimmering Ohio River and next to Victoria National Golf Club, Friedman Park’s is home to a stunning 180-acre site that is ideal for family picnics, corporate events, and public concerts. The park will also serve as a staging area for Victoria National Golf Club events. Wildflower meadows, hummingbird gardens, and butterfly gardens provide laid-back beauty and a touch of whimsy. Amenities such as an amphitheater, picnic pavilions, and more than a mile of biking and walking trails enhance the formerly-untouched land by providing numerous opportunities for interaction and entertainment. Visitors will love the playgrounds, hiking, and fishing opportunities and will appreciate the large parking area, space for food trucks, and multiple public restrooms. Friedman Park is a beautiful attraction for residents of and visitors to Southwestern Indiana, Evansville, Newburgh, and Warrick County.
Indian Hill Overlook Park

What is believed to have been a Native American campsite, once full of arrowheads and other artifacts, is the latest addition to the Newburgh Park system. Indian Hill Overlook Park is open dawn to dusk daily from March 16 to October 31.
DNR: Interlake State Recreation Area

Interlake State Recreation Area (ISRA), former coal mine land straddling Pike and Warrick counties, is a multi-use recreational facility focusing on off-road vehicle (ORV) recreation. Interlake is approximately 3,550 acres with nearly 100 miles of trails and 17 lakes (many of which can be accessed for fishing). The three areas of mining and reclamation create a variety of trail experiences for ORV enthusiasts, horse riders, hikers and mountain bikers. From steep spoil banks to rolling grasslands, man-made lakes and strip pits, Interlake offers a diverse array of topography and scenic views.
Lou Dennis Community Park, Pavilion, & Event Room

Lou Dennis Community Park is a great place for all ages. Rent the shelter house for a group picnic or spread a blanket under a tree. The playground and Fortress of Fun is a kids haven. Teens can challenge the older folk to a game of sandlot volleyball, basketball or tennis. There is a field for those that want a friendly game of tag football or soccer.
Lou Dennis Park also has an indoors event room that can be rented 365 days a year.
Lynnville Park Campground

While traveling from St. Louis to Kentucky, Lynnville RV Park is just off I-64. Check-in through the honor system as the store/office closes at 5pm; $22. The grounds are clean and well maintained. The camp sites are complete with fire rings, grills and picnic tables; some sites are actually on the river.
This is a great place for kayakers, canoes and fisherman to bring their boat and spend the day.
Newburgh Old Lock & Dam Park

Old Lock and Dam Park was acquired by the Town of Newburgh in 1979 after being surplused by the United States Government in 1978. Old Lock and Dam Park, wish access from French Island Trail, is a 13.4 acre facility located adjacent to the Ohio River. French Island Trail (State Route 662) splits the park into north and south sections. The Old Lock and Dam Park south features include boat dock, parking, the Rivertown Trail and the historic Old Lock and Dam Building No. 47. The Old Lock and Dam Park north features panoramic views of the Ohio River as well as a gazebo, two cottages, an historic log cabin with garden and the Little Red Brick Building. The north side is all the site of the future Allen Family Amphitheater.
Rivertown Trail

The Rivertown Trail is a multi-use greenway that extends from Angel Mounds State Historic Site to the new Locks & Dam Park along the Ohio River Scenic Byway. It travels right through the heart of downtown Newburgh along its riverfront, with restaurants and coffee shops along the way and a farmers’ market on Saturdays. The trail includes trailheads, interpretive signage, and attractive landscaping.
Scales Lake Park

Nestled in southwest Indiana, just northeast of Boonville, Scales Lake Park sits in a stunning natural setting.
